If you are finding you have time on your hands, your local retirement village needs you.
Sunrise Village is asking for volunteers to come and help out in their vibrant retirement community.
Volunteering is a great way to give back, and in many cases, gives you a great sense of self-achievement.
It is a fantastic way to meet new people, and the residents of Sunrise Village have many interesting stories to tell. Volunteering truly makes you feel incredible inside.
It also looks great on your resume and is a great way to keep yourself active if you are seeking work or want to keep busy in retirement.
There are many ways in which you can help. If you have any talents you can share, such as craft or painting skills or just want to sit and have a chat, giving a little time can help a lot. You can even take one of the resident's dogs for a walk.
"Often our residents need help with computers or learning how to use a mobile phone," says Sue Price, Sunrise's village manager. "It can really help them connect with their families and feel less isolated.
"We have a lovely morning tea each day with homemade cakes, biscuits, cookies and fruit. It would be lovely to have some helpers.
"Our staff here at Sunrise really do care, but a little bit of extra help can go a long way.
"If you are considering working in aged care, nursing or with people with disabilities, this would be a great opportunity to see if this would be a good career option for you," says Sue.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you can call Sue on 5528 5001 or Kim on 5528 5001.
