Depending on installation progress the park also could be closed on Friday.
However, MidCoast Council has assured the playground will be open, along with extra shade for a forecast mainly sunny 23-25 degree Saturday and Sunday, this weekend.
The work will include the installation of three additional shade sails, which has been funded through round two Stronger Country Communities grant program.
A total of $550,000 has been allocated across eight Mid Coast sites from the program.
These works at Lone Pine will result in six sails over the playground providing much needed shelter from the sun.
Council also is replacing one of the storm damaged sails from the original installation of three sails.
