Funding of up to $2000 from the Anzac Community Grants program has been made available for projects supporting local veterans or boosting awareness of the role they played in Australia's military history.

"Veterans past and present served to keep us safe and this is a great chance to recognise their sacrifices, while enriching our communities," Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead said.
"We're seeking projects that not only recognise the important service of our veterans but also educates future generations about their sacrifices."
Grants cover four categories:
- Local community historical research and education;
- Preservation or display of war memorabilia; public commemorative events, arts and
- Culture; and support to members of the NSW veteran community.
Applications are open to individuals and not-for-profit organisations including local government authorities, non-government organisations, ex-service organisations and educational institutions.
More than 40 projects were selected in 2020, including a replica battlefield trench for high school students, a digital gallery of 600 photos and beach lifesaving training.

Minister for Veterans, Natalie Ward said the grants program was one way the NSW Government was addressing key areas including wellbeing, education and recognition.
"This is an opportunity to get projects off the ground, at a grassroots level across many communities," Mrs Ward said.
"Our veteran community grows by around 1200 former Australian Defence Force personnel every year and we need to empower them to live fulfilling lives after service."
The annual Anzac Community Grants program has injected almost $250,000 across nearly 180 projects since its inception in 2015.
