"The purpose of the burn was to reduce bushfire fuel loads in the national park adjacent to Treachery Camp and Seal Rocks Village," NPWS Manning Great Lakes area manager, Steve Smith said.
"The 24-hectare burn will help to reduce the risk to houses and other community assets from the impacts of wildfire, while also minimising potential wildfire intensity in nearby koala habitat," Mr Smith said.
"There may be smoke impacts for residents in Seal Rocks for the duration of the burn.
"If you are a resident that is vulnerable to smoke, we encourage you to stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed to reduce exposure.
"We also recommend that residents remove washing from outdoor clotheslines and ensure pets have a protected area.

"NPWS will close Treachery Beach and the Treachery Beach 4WD Access Trail during the operation.
"Yagon Road will remain open, but motorists are advised to adhere to the reduced speed limit which will be in place and drive to the conditions."
All burns across NSW will continue to be co-ordinated with the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) to ensure the impact on the community, including from smoke, are assessed at a regional level.
Details on specific burns will be made available in advance on the Rural Fire Service website, 'Fires Near Me' app, and on NPWS Alerts website.
