Photos shared with The Border Mail showed the Monday night message delivered on a pedestrian bridge in Albury.
They read "Barnaby Joyce not my choice" and "2018 resigned (sic) sexual harassment allegations (sic) 2021 deputy PM (sic) womens taskforce".
The second sign made reference to Joyce's replacement of ousted Deputy PM Michael McCormack on a women's safety and economic security task force.

Senator Simon Birmingham said it was appropriate and important to have the government's senior office bearers sitting down with female ministers as part of the task force.
"That's the whole purpose as to why it was established," he told ABC radio on Friday.
Mr Joyce quit as deputy prime minster in 2018 after fiercely denying sexual harassment allegations which emerged during a scandal about his affair with a staff member.
His re-election as leader of the Nationals in a party spill drew criticisms from Alana Johnson, former Rural Woman of the Year and North East farmer.
"Words are easy to say and can be hollow," she said of Mr Joyce's comment that he'd learnt from his mistakes.
