The Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music tour will be hosted by Hans, known to many from his appearances on America's Got Talent, and is much more than an average movie screening.

Fans of The Sound of Music are encouraged to dress up as their favourite character or thing for a costume parade before a screening of the 1965 musical starring Julie Andrews.

With the song lyrics appearing on the big screen, Hans will be appearing live to guide the audience in singing along to all the famous songs throughout the classic Academy Award-winning film.

Audiences are invited to cheer for Maria von Trapp, wave their edelweiss in the air, boo the Nazis and hiss the Baroness.

Hans said the tour was the best way to experience 'the world's most beloved film'.

"The thing everybody loves about The Sound of Music is the great songs so the words come up for every song and every joins in and it's a lot of fun," he said.

"I've hosted it before and one time someone came dressed as the gazebo. That's the kind of creativity I'm looking for.

"I also think if you've never seen the movie, it's a really fun way to do it because it pokes a bit of fun at the movie and the experience.

"If you've seen it, you already know what's coming up and get the inside jokes... it's madness, it really is a mad night out and I'll be there, so what more do you want?"

In addition to Taree, The Sing-A-Long A Sound of Music tour criss-crosses the country visiting other regional cities such as Coffs Harbour, Bundaberg, and Cairns.
