He may be a few hundred surfboards short, but Evan Hunter is going to have a crack at beating the Guiness Book of Records for the world's longest surfboard fence.

That honour belongs to Donald Dettloff who has 647 different boards displayed around his property in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii.
"I am confident we can out-do the Americans if we put our minds to it," Evan said.
Evan, who manages the Sandbar and Bushlands Holiday Parks and Golf Course began his challenge quite by accident after having a casual chat with a local.
His search for surfboards of any size, shape and condition began with a Facebook request asking for donations of boards to act as a screen to line the 200 metre entry fence.
In the short time since he sent out the request Evan has amassed more than 40 boards and the tally continues to rise.
"It has actually become a bit of an attraction," he said.
"It's a fantastic idea, and it will be very unique"
While the majority of boards have been donated by local people, he has been given a couple from outside the Great Lakes, including Newcastle.
"This will look amazing.
"Let's keep this rolling."
Believed to be unique to NSW there is a similar structure at Margaret River, the famed WA surf spot.
Evan is confident the structure will in the future become a tourist attraction, not that the popular surf beaches need a drawcard to bring visitors to the Great Lakes.
"I have been led to believe Cellito and Sandbar (beaches) are some of the best surf beaches in the world," he said.
That aside, Sandbar already has a somewhat Hollywood-type claim to fame - it is where the music video for Darren Braithwaite's classic hit Horses was filmed.
