Proud Lower North Coast Branch representatives at the three day award camp on Sydney's Northern Beaches, the pair joined young, like-minded people from 22 branches across the State for the annual event which challenges and teaches new skills.
They have now established friendships which they believe will be maintained and enhanced over coming years.
They experienced multiple leadership activities, adventure challenges, fun events and a guided tour through a Westpac Rescue AW139 helicopter which has been fitted out with state-of-the-art aeromedical and flight equipment.
This year's State winners were Taylah Moffitt from Mid North Coast Kempsey Crescent Head Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) and Vivek Sirkari from Northern Beaches Warriewood SLSC.
Selection was based on a panel interview and on achievements in, and contributions to, all levels of surf life saving as well as in the wider community.
SLS NSW president, George Shales OAM said the selection of an overall winner this year was extremely tough, with such a high calibre field of young leaders participating in the program.
This is the 32nd year of the award program, recognising the achievements and contributions of the State's most outstanding under 14 members.
"Our young members are the future of our movement," he said.
"We are re-imagining Surf Life Saving in NSW over the next few years and the people in this room are going to be the ones to achieve that," Mr Shales said before announcing the winners.
