Much of the funding would go towards upgrading the aging toilet block infrastructure, with any monies left over for beautification or additional picnic facilities.
"We try to help council to get things going," Member for Lyne, David Gillespie said while announcing the funding last Friday, April 16.
The money has been allocated from the Federal government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program Covid Economic Stimulus package.
Working with MidCoast Council we will deliver 'must do projects' for Forster and Tuncurry communities providing improved park and recreation upgrades, Dr Gillespie said.
"These are important projects the local community identified in our Vision 2030 Plan Survey and I'm delighted the Federal government has been able to contribute to the revitalisation."
The grant funding will allow the significant upgrade works to be brought forward so that the work will provide stimulus to the local economy during construction as part of the recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marine Rescue Forster Tuncurry member, Dennis Travers welcomed the funding which he said would go a long way to helping with ground maintenance.

The volunteer group used the grounds monthly where it operated the Tuncurry Markets and conducted a popular barbecue fundraising stall.
"It is a well used park; anything to improve it is welcome," he said.
"We use it 13 times a year."
Mr Travers said many years have passed since the grounds received any maintenance.
MidCoast may, David West welcomed the funding announcement and said many amazing projects like this one would be delivered over the next 12 months through Federal government funding.
"These projects have been on our agenda for many years, it was part of our future program, however with this assistance we will be able to do more than we'd planned and sooner," Cr West said.
"John Wright Park provides a wonderful vista across the Wallis Lake and with these improvements will see many more families and visitors able to enjoy."
