The Mid Coast was well represented in the North Coast girls representative squad that competed in the under 16s NSW Country Championships at Tamworth.

Forster's Catelyn Galbraith, Taree's Samira Mitchell and Wingham's Jaimee-Lee Woolfe played key roles in the T20 fixtures played on January 11 and 12.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the championships - normally an eight-team tournament - were split into two pools, with North Coast in the northern pool with Newcastle and Central Northern.
Newcastle finished the tournament undefeated while North Coast and Central North shared wins. North Coast finished second with a better net run rate.
North Coast, coached by Kate Jackson and Adam Broderick, were defeated by Newcastle in the first match, with Samira (32) and Catelyn (19) the best with the bat.
Following a round two bye, North Coast suffered a three wicket loss to Central Northern. Samira again took on the batting responsibility to top score with 36 (including four boundaries).

The side was restricted to 7/82, which Central Northern chased down with three overs to spare.
Jaimee-Lee returned the best figures for North Coast with the ball, with 2/5 from three overs.
The sides met again in round four but this time it was a different story.
North Coast secured a nine wicket win, with Samira finishing 33 not out.
Jaimee-Lee was among the best bowlers, claiming 2/10.
In the final game against Newcastle, the side had to chase 122 to win.
Samira fell for 47 as North Coast lost by 16 runs.
North Coast Cricket officials said the girls showed tenacity, energy and attitude in each each game.
It's hoped the young and inexperienced side will stay together for future Country Championships.
It's also hoped the regular carnival format will return next year.
