Council has received information that a number of little tern chicks are being caught in 4WD tracks on local beaches.
Please observe all signage and only drive between the tidal marks on the sand, a council spokesperson has asked.
"It's important to stay as far away from the fenced breeding zones to give these birds the best chance, whether you're in a vehicle or on foot.
"Many species of beach-nesting birds are under threat of extinction, largely due to disturbance by dogs, unaware beachgoers and 4WD vehicles on beaches."
