And, now it's time to celebrate the festive season, the perfect time to support our local retailers, and share the love and the spirit of Christmas across the Great Lakes.
But, are you stuck for ideas or running short of gift buying time?
Now it's easier than ever with the #shopmidcoast gift card, a gift card that can be used at 250 outlets throughout the Mid Coast region.
And, there's an added incentive when you purchase a #ShopMidCoast gift card this festive season- available for purchase from as little as $10 - you can go into the draw to win a $5000 #ShopMidCoast gift card courtesy of the MidCoast Business Chamber.
All you need to do is grab your card from any of the loading stores throughout the region and then register your card on the Why Leave Town site by 5pm December 18.
Imagine how awesome it would be if that card is the one that wins the $5000.

"These gift cards are perfect as a thank you to your staff or loyal customers and the perfect Christmas gift for family, friends and those wonderful neighbours next door," Forster Tuncurry Business Chamber president, Megan Lewis said.
"Imagine how awesome it would be if that card is the one that wins the $5000," she said.
Gift cards can be redeemed at more than 250 outlets across the Mid Coast region.
"It's a win all round for locals"
The winner will be announced at 2pm on Monday, December 22.
Research conducted by Why Leave Town - the people behind the #ShopMidCoast gift card - found that $100 spent locally results in a whopping $180 impact on the local economy, which in turn provides local employment opportunities, encourages a better and larger range of products and services, stimulates community investment and fosters community pride and participation.
That's because every dollar spent actually circulates about seven times.
