A group of Tuncurry residents is calling on MidCoast Council to take greater interest in the Rock Pool recreation area.

Facebook group, Friends of Tuncurry, believe the popular tourist spot has been passed over and more interest channeled into the proposed Tuncurry water park and across the lake in Forster.
The group has jotted down a wish list of improvements to the Rock Pool precinct, one of the most popular family beaches in the Great Lakes, including the removal of plastic bollards, upgrade to amenities, the children's playground and the installation of sandstone safety bollards.
"There has been very little money spent here for a long-time," Friends of Tuncurry spokesperson, Leanne Jeffries said.
"People are angry and disgruntled about the bollards; much of the time they are pushed down on to the beach," she said.

"Can you imagine what this place will be like at Christmas?
"Our town survives on tourists that's why we have all those lovely cafes and restaurants.
"But the whole area is neglected; they put things in and never look at them again."
Ms Jeffries said residents are not asking for a redevelopment of the area, but for it to be maintained.
The group has asked for amenities to be upgraded in line with the Forster Main Beach facilities, the rusted and aged children's play equipment replaced and the installation of sandstone bollards near the Tuncurry Rockpool Cafe.
Mr Jeffries believed bollards would serve two purposes; seating for cafe patrons and avoid a motor vehicle accident.
However, MidCoast Council community spaces recreation and trades manager, Dan Aldridge disputed the area had been neglected, reaffirming a major refurbishment project at the Rock Pool would begin early in the new year and that car park area was above board and in accordance with the Roads Act.
Mr Aldridge said the installation of sandstone safety bollards was not feasible or practicable, and could be a trip hazard.
The toilets were refurbished a few years ago, as a temporary measure, he said.
"They are fit for function and they are clean."
In the meantime, council will investigate the availability of grant funding for a future replacement.
