After receiving confirmation of her win with an official from The Lott, the overwhelmed play explained how her prize came to be.

"I actually received it as a gift for my birthday," she said.

"There were 10 tickets in a card, and this one was the second last ticket I scratched.

"I was so excited when I saw I'd won $10,000.

"I was literally in my undies, running around the house, screaming like a mad woman.

"I went and told my family straight away.

"They thought it was great.

"Only a few days ago, my dad had a dream that someone close to him won a top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

"I guess it was actually a premonition, and I can't believe I'm the winner.

"It's insane.

"Not only because of that but also because it was a birthday present.

"I'm still struggling to comprehend it.

"We had a few drinks to celebrate the win and my birthday.

"I'm just so shocked.

"I've never won anything like this.

"What a great birthday this was."

The young woman plans to put her winnings towards the deposit of a house.

"Now, I am one step closer to having my own place."

Tully's Tuncurry Newsagency staff member, Kirstie Yates said she couldn't be happier for the winning customer.

"It's very exciting!" she said

."We love when we can give our customers the thrill of a win.

"She came in here to check her ticket, and she was so happy.

"We couldn't be happier for the winner and wish her all the best.

"We've been sharing the news with all of our customers, and we can't wait until we can sell another major prize."
