The did-you-know storyboards have been placed in a variety of publicly-accessible locations and share interesting tidbits about the area's history and heritage.
MidCoast Council economic development officer, Robyn Brennan, says the storyboards have been installed as a part of Tuncurry's ongoing community-led transformation, which began with the 7-Day Makeover last June.
"It's all about encouraging people to stay in the CBD longer," Ms Brennan said.
"It's also about raising awareness of the history of the region and raising the profile of Tuncurry."
Ms Brennan says there is a plan in place to create a route that takes in all of the storyboards, known as the Tuncurry Trail, but it is yet to be finalised.
Once the trail is up and running, promotional pamphlets will be available at interested local businesses.
Great Lakes Tackle owner, Luke Austin, has one of the storyboards mounted on the outside of his shop and believes the initiative will help generate interest among shoppers, particularly those from out of town.
He has been involved with Manning Street's transformation since last year's 7-Day Makeover and says it has had a positive impact on the CBD.
"It's about maximising the space," Mr Austin said.
"The longer people are out on the street, the more likely they are to visit other shops."

Forster Tuncurry Business Chamber president, Megan Lewis, also welcomed the storyboards and said the makeover had done a great job of giving people reason to stay longer in Tuncurry.
"The addition of these plaques builds upon this and local business-owners can now get creative and think about fun ways they can include the plaques into their marketing," she said.
"Making our towns a bit different and fun and telling a story of our place is so important to improving the experiences people have. Whether you live here, visit once or often, we want our town to be a place people remember."
Last year's 7-Day Makeover saw Tuncurry business-owners raise $53,000 to transform the town's CBD over the course of a busy but buoyant week, with assistance from council and internationally-renowned place-making business, Creative Communities.
Since then, a number of smaller projects have been completed, with Ms Brennan confirming there is still more than $2000 left in trust for further improvements.
