The 16-year-old took out the competition after she submitted a video of herself riding a large wave at South Boomerang Beach earlier this year.
Charlize said she wasn't expecting to win but was understandably stoked when she found out she had.
"I just entered it to see how I'd go and I ended up winning," she said.
Currently in Year 10 at Great Lakes College Forster campus, Charlize said she'd enjoyed riding big waves since she was young and hoped to pursue a career in the emerging sphere of women's big wave surfing.
"I want to do the big wave tour when I'm older," she said.
"I reckon it would be a really good career to have because you get to travel all around the world to all these amazing places."
Among the breaks she'd most like to tackle are renowned big wave spots Jaws (Hawaii), Nazare (Portugal) and Cloudbreak (Fiji).
Closer to home, she'd like to get over to Western Australia's Margaret River to test herself in the powerful breaks over there.
Before any of that, however, Charlize has a free one-hour session at Melbourne's Urbnsurf Wave Pool to enjoy, thanks to her win in the web surfing titles.
"I can't wait to go down there but I think I'll have to wait with COVID," she said.

Talented in more than just big waves, Charlize returned from the NSW Junior Shortboard State Titles and High School State Titles at Coffs Harbour this week, where she made the quarter finals and semi finals respectively.
She admitted the level of surfing was really high and the waves were quite consistent, but with her love of a large swell, it would've suited her better if the waves had been a bit bigger.
"It got big one day, but I wasn't surfing that day."
