The 10th anniversary of the Forster-Tuncurry Running Festival - or Run Fest, as it's been renamed - will not go ahead in 2020, with organisers opting to cancel it because of COVID-19.
"Due to the uncertainty surrounding events in these challenging times with the COVID-19 pandemic we've made the difficult decision to cancel Forster-Tuncurry Running Festival 2020 which was scheduled to be held on Sunday, September 27," a statement on the event's Facebook page said.
"All registered runners will receive a full refund for any pre-paid entry fees. Please allow up to four weeks for this refund to be processed."
Organisers have earmarked September 12, 2021 as the new date for the 10th anniversary.

More than 1200 runners took part in the festival in 2019, with race director Kevin Chilvers saying the event continued to appeal to a wide demographic of people.
"This is an event organised by runners for runners," he said.
