You couldn't wipe the smile off the face of Rainbow Warriors FC president Matt Zarb when talking about the Ride for Autism.
A small group of players, parents and supporters braved a cold and windy morning last Sunday, July 5 to whiz around the Taree criterium track while raising funds for Autism Australia.
Matt thanked all the sponsors for their support of the event and generous donations for a well-deserving charity.
Their efforts topped the original target of $2000.
The ride was also supported by Manning Valley Cycle Club, Dundaloo Support Services, Valley Industries and McGrath Meats.
The Rainbow Warriors mantra is about creating a world where no-one on the autism spectrum gets left behind.
That's why it was essential the club could get together in some form in 2020 after their football season was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the risk it presented to players who have special needs and/or pre-existing medical conditions.
Matt confirmed players would be back on the park in 2021.
The Rainbow Warriors are always open to more members.
Matt can be contacted on 0431 126 366 for more information.
