The shower area has also been concreted and new bollards have been installed in the car park.
A new timber bench seat is also set to be put in soon.
Council's coastal management coordinator, Andrew Staniland, said the upgraded path would improve pedestrian access and reduce erosion at the site.
"Previously a nearby stormwater outlet, together with wave action, frequently eroded the access," Mr Staniland said.
"By constructing a formal beach access path, we can protect the beach and natural dunes and prevent excessive erosion.
"Importantly, the improved access allows for emergency vehicle access to the beach.
"To help stabilise the dune, new fencing and planting of pigface has been undertaken as part of the project."
The upgrade was jointly funded by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and MidCoast Council.
