Catholic Care Social Services Hunter-Manning and the Catholic Parish of Forster Tuncurry are joining forces to open the Forster Tuncurry Community Kitchen in July.
It will be located in the parish hall at 33 Lake Street, Forster.
The community kitchen will serve lunch on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12 and 1pm.
Catholic Care are currently seeking volunteers to help run the operation.
Volunteers will be required to pick up food donations and prepare and serve meals.
Volunteer information sessions will be held at the parish hall on Wednesday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 10 at 10am.
Catholic Care Social Services Hunter-Manning director, Gary Christensen, said the role would suit anyone over 16 who had time to give.
"You need to be friendly, be able to connect with people, and if you can cook that's a bonus," he said.
