MidCoast Council has announced that construction of the Forster Civic Precinct has been placed on hold due to the developer, Enyoc, being unable to meet the works schedule because of the impacts of COVID-19.
"Initially work paused while the developer assessed the impact of COVID on the health and safety risk for the site," a statement from council said.
"The deepening community risk caused by COVID across Australia has caused financial difficulties that have impacted on the original timeline of completion by September this year, which will now not be possible."
Council says it is currently working through the situation with the developer.
