In response to the global shut down of arts events, the Head Honcho himself, Andrew Lloyd Webber, has launched a YouTube channel called "The Shows Must Go On" bringing you showtunes, backstage access and full performances from some of the best loved musicals in history.
Previous presentations have included Jesus Christ Superstar starring Tim Minchin, and The Phantom of the Opera.
Last Saturday musical buffs were treated to a special screening of The Phantom of the Opera in a special version of the show recorded for its 25th anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011, starring Ramin Karimloo as the Phantom and Sierra Boggess as Christine.
The unique staging of the show featured a cast and orchestra of more than 200, and a number of special guest appearances.
The weekly streams of all shows become accessible at 4am if you're super keen (or haven't gone to bed yet) and are available to stream for free for 48 hours in countries outside the UK.
The You Tube channel "The Shows Must Go On" offers the rare opportunity to see lavish productions of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musicals as well as snippets of backstage action and rehearsals.
Keep your eye on it for upcoming ALW shows every week! You can find a link directly to the site on our Facebook page where we're regularly posting links to streamed entertainment.
Ian Moss reschedules
In some good news for live music fans, Ian Moss has announced the new date for his rescheduled show at the Manning Entertainment Centre. Originally booked for March 27 this year, Mossy will be back with all guns blazing on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Where possible, we are seeking new dates for shows that we've had to cancel, and we're so pleased that Ian has been able to rearrange a new schedule for his East Coast tour.
Another cancelled show that will be joining us next year is Rockin Through the Ages on Saturday, March 13. We'll be letting patrons know if the show they originally booked for is rescheduled, so keep an eye on your emails, our website and our Facebook page for details.
