You put on your walking shoes and take a trek along the beautiful Great Lakes coastline in this year's Big Heart Hike.
Now in its fourth year, the 28 kilometre walk, or stroll along the beach, will be held on Saturday, March 14.
Money raised is donated to Forster Marine Rescue.
The walk began as a way to thank the Forster Marine Rescue for their outstanding work in keeping our community safe, and in particular for saving the life of Henry Perram in 2013, Lori Belic said.
"Forster Marine Rescue is totally reliant upon donations and community support.
"This is our way of showing support for their work."
The walk will begin at 6.30am at Blackhead Surf Club in time for sunrise over Nine Mile Beach.
Following a 16 kilometre hike to Tuncurry and into Forster breakfast will be served at the Marine Rescue base.
The walk then continues along the coast towards One Mile and onto Burgess before tackling the toughest section of the walk through Booti Booti National Park to the top of Cape Hawke lookout and a return to One Mile Surf Club.
"Participants are encouraged to do as little or as much as they are able to."
In previous years, some people walked to the Forster Marine Rescue and stopped after having breakfast, while other walkers finished at One Mile, Lori said.
Also making news:
"For the people that completed the entire hike, the feeling of accomplishment at the end was very rewarding.
"It is aimed as a fun community event to help a good cause while enjoying the Great Lakes beautiful scenery."
The $40 of the $50 cost - which includes foods and refreshments - is donated to Marine Rescue to ensure they continue their outstanding work, Lori said.
All details and how to register can be found on the Big Heart Hike website.
