I wish to highlight that there are people in your electorate who are highly concerned about climate change and feel very strongly that the government are not doing nearly enough to counter this threat.
In particular the denialism of human made climate change on behalf of the National Party is ignorance at the very least but also threatens all of our survival most importantly.
The Manning River dried up completely this summer - another "first ever" - and threatened the survival of one of the oldest turtle species in existence, the helmeted Manning River turtle as well as causing the death of flora and fauna along its course and affecting farmers/landowners who rely on it for water source.
Fires ravaged the area, earlier and fiercer than any previous season and 2019 was the hottest year on record.
We are worried and we want acknowledgement from our political leaders and for them to take action to mitigate against this most pressing of issues.
