Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead has urged Taree, Nabiac and Bulahdelah show societies to follow the lead of neighboring Wingham and apply for funding grants.

Mid Coast shows are eligible for State government grants of up to $5000 from the $170 million drought stimulus package.
Despite the ongoing drought and devastating aftermath of the bushfire crisis, country shows must go on, Mr Bromhead said.
He said funds would help boost businesses and community spirit.
"People here are hurting and country shows have always been part of the social fabric in our area, they also played a significant part in the fires of late last year acting as official and unofficial evacuation centres, being able to keep these shows going this year will be a huge benefit to the local community, both as a morale boost as well as an economic boost," Mr Bromhead said.
Funds have already been secured for Wingham Show Society ahead of the show in March.
NSW deputy premier John Barilaro said drought and bushfires forced the cancellation of more than a dozen country shows in recent months and government sponsorships would assist organisers of events in 2020 with associated costs.
"In drought regions, local businesses are struggling to find the money to they'd usually provide for sponsorships, and we've seen how bushfires on South Coast resulted in cancelled shows where showgrounds became evacuation centres," Mr Barilaro said.
"Country shows draw huge crowds which gives local businesses exposure and a chance to showcase products or increase sales, creating work for suppliers, keeping money flowing through towns."
NSW Mental Health Minister Bronnie Taylor said organisers can use the money to employ local contractors, hire local equipment or for other show related expenses.
"Shows bring together all the best things about a community, they give people a reason to come together and have fun, whether that's cheering at a wood chopping event, competing for the best raspberry jam or visiting the livestock sheds," Mrs Taylor said.
"As we deal with the devastating impact of bushfires and drought, it is going to be important for people to have a way to escape the pressures they are facing."
