One hundred girls and women aged 14 and over are set to take part in the fourth annual event, which will be held at Elizabeth Reserve at Forster Keys on Sunday, January 19.
Run by the Forster Tri Club, co-organiser Aaron Eichner said the event was starting to gather a following.
"It's less competitive and more of a fun and enjoyable format for girls and ladies who haven't done a triathlon before but want to give it a go," he said.
"The triathlon is designed to provide a challenging but achievable race distance for girls of all fitness levels and is the perfect 'first triathlon' for all women."
Kicking off at 8am, the course involves a 300m swim, 12km cycle and 3km run, with all participants receiving a race pack and souvenir finishers towel upon completing the course.
While the event is timed, no places are given in an effort to keep the focus on the physical and social benefits of participating.
Started in 2017, Mr Eichner said the club came up with the event in order to offer women a fun and non-competitive introduction to the sport of triathlon.
"We thought we'd tailor an event for them," he said.
"Give ladies in the community a bit of a goal to work towards."
And so far he believed the event had been received very well.
"All of the feedback we've got is it's been a well-run and enjoyable event," he said.
