On Monday evening, a crowd of more than 2000 attended the 45th annual festive season sing-a-long in John Wright Park, Tuncurry.
Forster Tuncurry Rotary Club incoming president, Lance Fletcher was pretty chuffed with the turn-out.
"The wind is always a concern for us," Mr Fletcher said.
However, Monday night was mild and calm; almost perfect weather for celebrating the spirit of Christmas with family, friends and a traditional carol or two.
Mr Fletcher believed the drought and bushfires had enticed families out of their homes for a pleasant evening out.
"With the recent fires people want to get out and take their mind off everything," he said.
In case you missed out:
The park was a sea of red and green as Santa hats and elf ears made their first public appearance for the festive season, and families and friends took up their places on the lawn with blankets and picnic baskets.
Former Rotary president, Bruce Parsons said the real celebration was the number of families and children who attended carols.
