A major art exhibition opening in January in Tea Gardens takes on that evocative theme, as well as helping to raise funds for animal rescue group, Wildlife In Need of Care (WINC).
The Cool Summer Art Exhibition will unveil widely varied and fascinating works by the renowned not-for-profit community art group Galleries in the Gardens (GIG).
Visitors are encouraged to vote in the People's Choice award and chance winning a fabulous prize in the fundraising raffle.
We continue to receive great feedback on the atmosphere, the art and how it is a drawcard for tourists to the area.
- Lesly Stephenson
The exhibition runs from Saturday, January 11 until end of the month, from 10am-4pm six days (closed Tuesdays) at The Gallery, 81 Marine Drive, waterfront on the Tea Gardens café strip.
Around 50 local artists belong to GIG.
In late 2017 GIG volunteers revamped the building and gardens known now as The Gallery, and within months of opening it attracted a Parliamentary Certificate of Recognition for being an outstanding example of a community service.
"The gallery has quickly become known as a welcoming place to stop by, to check out the latest works by GIG's talented artists, have a chat, and take a coffee into its lush garden," GIG president. Lesly Stephenson said.
"We continue to receive great feedback on the atmosphere, the art and how it is a drawcard for tourists to the area," she said.
Entry is free and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
The Gallery is at 81 Marine Drive, Tea Gardens, diagonally opposite the ferry wharf and on the waterside café strip or log onto the website HERE.
