Homebase employment services manager Jane Lynch said this year in Forster Tuncurry alone the organisation had identified at least 50 clients who would benefit from assistance.
"It makes a big difference at Christmas," Ms Lynch said.
"A lot of people are hungry and the hampers go a little bit of a way to making up that shortfall."
The organisation is asking members of the public and businesses to consider contributing to the hampers, whether it be through cash donations, vouchers or non-perishable food items.
