Taree Lions Club and Rotary Club of Taree on Manning have taken this on board and will now work together to provide disaster relief assistance to bushfire victims.
Both clubs have set up accounts to collect funds from the public.
The Rotary Club's projects manager Maurie Stack said the response from the public has been astonishing.
"In the first week, we've raised a combined amount of $120,000 so we're pretty pleased about that," Mr Stack said.
Mr Stack outlined how one Taree businessman, who wishes to remain anonymous, donated $20,000 to the cause.
On Monday night, 40 Eftpos cards valued at $999 each were ordered. These will be handed out in the coming weeks.
"We will be distributing those to people who have lost everything in the fires so they can buy those essentials like clothes, a few toiletries or a few toys for the kids," Mr Stack said.
The clubs are also receiving donated goods at their base at the former Masters site at Taree South.
As public access to the site is limited, smaller donations and fodder should to be taken to Taree Showground.
Larger items from trucks can still be delivered to the former Masters site.
Clothes are no longer required but non-perishable items can still be donated.
Taree Lions Club president George Greaves said more than $100,000 worth of supplies have been donated from the area and across the State.
"All the donations are wonderful," Mr Greaves said.
"This is outstanding and now we're getting calls from people in Sydney who want to come up and bring their stuff."
Mr Greaves said both clubs strive to service the community.
"These are the things that Rotary and Lions are really about," Mr Greaves said.
"We're about getting in there, helping people in need.
"We're really grateful to the people that are coming on board and helping with this cause."
"The advantage about service clubs is we aren't charging any money, Rotarians and Lions are all volunteers," Mr Stack added.
Anyone who has lost their home and requires assistance can contact either the Lions or Rotary clubs. This has already started to roll out.
A woman, who visited the relief centre this week, was set up with a generator, a caravan and water connection.
Donations can be made via the Taree Lions Club's Go Fund Me page or by visiting the Rotary Club's website.
