The appeal was introduced by local member, Stephen Bromhead with a $20,000 donation from the Parliamentary Lions Club Follow Your Dream Foundation. Mr Bromhead is president of the organisation.

The appeal being co-ordinated by Taree Lions club with support from more than 20 organisations including all local Lions, Rotary, Quota and Probus clubs and the Country Women's Association.

Lions Club co-ordinator, George Grieves welcomed the generous donation and has called on other businesses in the area to consider contributing to the appeal.

Club Forster has donated $20,000.
