Bolting towards properties backing on to bushland along Greys Road, the red steer pulled up just short of properties along Blackbutt Drive.
However, electricity remains cut after the fire melted a power substation box in Greys Road, while power lines and a pole are down in Bullocky Way.
The power outage is affecting more than 200 households.
There have been unconfirmed reports a couple of structures were lost in last night's inferno at the northern end of Bullocky Way, which remains cut to all traffic as work to restore power continues.
Residents battled for much of Tuesday clearing debris from around structures, watering down houses and gardens, mulching and anything that would ensure properties remained intact.
However, when police firmly suggested they leave the area, many felt they would never see their homes again as the fire storm moved closer.
But, some residents chose to remain behind dousing spot fires and opening their properties to allow firies easy access to the blaze and nearby fire hydrants.
Later in the evening some residents returned to their homes after learning properties had been saved, continuing to help put out spot fires.
Trevor King was surprised his property remained untouched.
Last night was a pretty stressful time for our family unsure of what had happened, Mr King said.
We're grateful to the RFS and our neighbors who worked together throughout the afternoon and into the night, he said.
