It takes a brave soul to put their life on the line to help others.
And, that is what hundreds of local NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS)volunteers have done over the past four weeks.
While conditions have eased somewhat to advise level - the Hillville fire has been downgraded to watch and act - firies aren't out of the woods as yet.
Tuesday, could see another catastrophic day.
"We've had many requests from the community asking what they can donate to help keep the crews on the fire ground going," has been posted by Tuncurry Rural Fire service.
The catering brigade has asked a for donations of small apples, mandarins and bananas, muesli bars, water and soft drinks for firies' ration packs.
Items can be delivered to the catering brigade, Grey Gum Road, Tuncurry,
