It didn't seem right in respect to the firies and community to hold a fun event during these times, he said.
This Sunday, November 10 Michael and his mates - Bruno Puglisi and Brendan Twemlow, part of popular local band Humpdaay - planned to hold a fundraising concert in John Wright Park Tuncurry to raise money for local NSW Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Services and The Salvation Army.
"We don't want to be out there celebrating while people are in pain," he said.
"This is not about us; we will give it time to cool down.
"But, it is very important that this goes ahead."
Michael was thrilled a Go-Fund Me page had already raised more than $3000 for the emergency personnel which had been tirelessly battling blazes in the Mid Coast for more than three weeks.
"Keep your thoughts and prayers with those effected in this sad time and to our heroes who are fighting these fires.
"We will keep the Go-Fund Me page running for those who wish to donate.
"Please continue to support where you can in the community."
Michael and his band-mates wanted to reassure members of the community the fundraising concert would go ahead later in the month.
