Extinction Rebellion Mid Coast is hosting the forum at the Uniting Church Hall, Taree, from 6.30pm.
Professor Turney will talk on the science around the climate and ecological emergency and also be available for a Q and A session.
A representative from MidCoast Council will discuss the continuing work on the council's climate change policy and action plan.
