The Year 5 student will go word for word with close to 100 of the best primary school spellers from around the State at the Eugene Goosens Hall in the ABC Centre at Ultimo.
His second time competing at the event, Maxim qualified after taking out the senior section of the regional finals in September.
He also won the junior section of the regional finals in 2018.
He'll be joined at the State final by fellow Mid North Coast students, Charlie Thompson from Old Bar Public School and Layla Wicks from Aldavilla Public School.
Close to 170,000 students from 1006 public schools across NSW have taken part in this year's event, breaking all previous participation records.
The Premier's Spelling Bee started in 2004 with the aim of supporting primary school students with their spelling while having fun at the same time.
