Multiple crews from the RFS and Fire and Rescue worked to contain the blaze after being called to the scene at around 2pm on Sunday, November 3.
Four waterbombing aircraft assisted the crews and by 5:30pm the fire had been upgraded to 'being controlled'.
It burnt approximately nine hectares of bushland in the Kenrose Reserve.

RFS district officer Kirsty Channon said the fire posed a significant threat because it was in close proximity to a large number of homes.
She said no damage to property had been reported.
Crews continued to work on the fire overnight and undertook a number of backburning operations in an effort to strengthen containment lines.
Ms Channon said they would continue to "mop it up today".
She also reported the limited rainfall overnight had only a minimal effect on bushfires burning along the Mid North Coast, but said the cooler change in weather had offered some reprieve to crews in the area, who would use the opportunity to strengthen containment lines before warmer conditions returned.
"There is still a lot of work to do," she said.
