A toddler has died after being hit by a car in the driveway of a house at Taree overnight.

Emergency services were called to the Taree residence yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, October 22, following reports a 20-month-old girl had been struck by a Holden Rodeo utility.
The toddler was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Manning Rural Referral Hospital where she later died.
The 24-year-old male driver was taken to hospital for blood and urine testing.
Officers from Manning-Great Lakes Police District established a crime scene and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
