It's billed as a football tournament that's as much about having a good time as it is about thumping the opposition, and in this regard the 2019 Golden Balls tournament once again lived up to its reputation, according to Tuncurry Forster Football Club president Lance Fletcher.

Held at Tuncurry's South Street Oval, the two-day six-a-side competition for men over-35 and women over-25 attracted 20 teams from around NSW, with Central Coast team CGA taking out the men's competition for a sixth time.
They won the grand final from Sydney team Elements in a penalty shoot-out.
In the women's competition, 50 Shades of McGrady topped Tinonee-based side 1/2 Broken Nundah Wiser.
Despite the enjoyable social atmosphere that accompanies the tournament, Mr Fletcher said the standard of football was really high, and it was for this reason the club planned to introduce an over-50s category in 2020 to help spread the competition.
"Teams who've been coming for the past 20 years are rapt," he said.
With positive feedback pouring in from many of the 120 players who took part in the tournament, Mr Fletcher said he couldn't have been happier with how the weekend went.
"It was great," he said.
"It went like clockwork."
He thanked the club's committee members for their help running the event and said Tuncurry Forster were looking forward to hosting the event again next year.
