Forster Public School's tennis team proved its skills were among the best in the State by finishing third at the NSW PSSA Victor J Kelly Trophy.

Accompanied by teacher and team manager Natalie Galle, Finn McDonagh, Hendrix McDonagh, Maxim Ceccato, Reeya Joon and Lexie Lees travelled to Sydney Olympic Park for the competition and progressed all the way to the final day.
They faced Gunnedah Public School in the semi-finals, but despite playing some superb tennis, were unable to beat the eventual runners-up.
They then faced Castle Hill's Excelsior Public School in a play-off for third place and were successful this time, winning the match five sets to three on the back of an excellent performance.

Ms Galle was extremely proud of her young team, who finished third in NSW out of the 126 teams that entered the competition.
Considering they faced older students in many of their encounters, she believed they had a great chance of faring even better next year.
"All of them will still be in primary school next year so the future of tennis in our school is looking very bright," she said.
Milton Public School were the overall winners of the competition.
