After taking part in 2018, Arles will once again join a cross-section of homes nation-wide opening its doors to the community.
Established in 2001, Sustainable House Day is a national event that allows the public to see and learn from the best environmental homes in Australia.
It aims to inspire people to live sustainably, showing them how to lower energy bills, live comfortably and help the environment through good home design, practices and technology.
Last year more than 33,000 people visited 226 homes across Australia to learn tips and hear advice about solar power, home batteries, off-grid living, innovative building materials and design, and more.
Gold coin donations and ticket sales from the 2018 event reached $13,742.07 which went to 35 charities chosen by individual homeowners.
Built six years ago, Arles features solar hot water, photovoltaic power, passive solar design and water harvesting in a permaculture inspired garden.
Homes will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, September 15.
A profile on the Arles listing its sustainable credentials can be found here.
All visitors to this year's event must register to attend via the Sustainable House Day website to obtain addresses of all open houses.
Sustainable House Day is a valuable resource for anyone looking for practical information on sustainable homes: what works, what doesn't and how to move towards 'greener' living.
Sustainable House Day is an event of Renew (Alternative Technology Association trading as Renew Australia) a national, not-for-profit organisation that inspires, enables and advocates for people to live sustainably in their homes and communities.
Established in 1980, Renew provides expert, independent advice on sustainable solutions for the home to households, government and industry.
