Madison has been training in karate in Bulahdelah for the past 10 years. She attends Bulahdelah Central School.
In the past Madison's determination has gained her a position in the Australian squad where she was able to represent Australia in martial arts in New Zealand.
She came away as the New Zealand Champion for her age in KATA (choreographed pattern).
Madison travelled with her father to Japan earlier this year. While in Kanazawa, Madison was invited to participate in a martial arts grading (under Sensei Farrell, 6th DAN and four other black belts).
Madison passed her grading.
"Not many people in Australia can say they have received their Black Belt in Japan, the home of karate," her mother Debbie said.
Madison continues to train and assist teaching with the local karate club.
