The Dirty Dog Tail Run is an adventurous event for dog lovers and their hounds, held each August in the Coopernook State Forest, this year on August 18.
This year two different courses will be offered - a 8.5km run, and a shorter four kilometre course - both offering interesting forest smells and muddy mud spots.
But much more than a run in the park, hounds and humans will enjoy a host of fun and games at the end, including a delicious barbecue, photo booth, pup-cake eating competition, and the popular 'Walk of Terror' which will test the willpower of the strongest willed pets.
This year will also feature a new addition, Brain Games, where pooches will have to use their smarts to find treats in the brain teaser games at the finish line.
The brainchild of dog-lover Danielle Donnelly, the Dirty Dog Tail Run has been designed specifically for pet-owners wanting to be adventurous with their dogs in a pet-friendly environment.
"Every detail of the event has been created from the perspective of what a dog would enjoy, from the course which runs through the forest to the fun games and agility areas that are a highlight of the event," Danielle said.
We've been able to educate people on State forests as dog friendly spaces, which most people don't know.

Danielle has partnered with the Forestry Corporation of NSW to host the event at Coopernook,
"We've been able to educate people on State forests as dog friendly spaces, which most people don't know," Danielle said.
"It means dog owners and their pooches will get out more often to enjoy local forests and find their own adventure trails outside of the event."
Now in its fourth year, the event has continued to grow in popularity, so much that even staff members from the Forestry Corporation come along.
The event is closely associated with Sweet Pea Animal Rescue, Forster and money raised from entry fees on the day will go towards the work of its volunteers in rehabilitation and re-homing animals.
"The Dirty Dog Tail Run offers something for every dog owner, from the exhilaration of completing the course, to the interactive games and special treats.
"But, most of all it's about celebrating the bond between dogs and their owners, and giving them the chance to enjoy a great day out together."
The Dirty Dog Tail Run is a trail run for hounds and their humans of all shapes, sizes and abilities.
