Not Ron Gallagher.
The veteran driver, from Forster, recently picked up two wins in the CAMS NSW Hillclimb Championship 2F Production Sports class.
With these wins came new State records.
At the Kempsey Hillclimb, Ron broke his own State record by 2.4 seconds.
Ron set the benchmark last year, at which time he toppled a longstanding lap set by Billy Jones in 2010.
It was deja vu three weeks ago at Tamworth where Ron beat his own record set in 2018.
This Toyota 86 is a wonderful car which I am getting to know quite well.
- Ron Gallagher
He saved the best for last, taking the win and record in his final run in 41.3550 seconds.
He's certainly picked the right car to race in.
The Toyota 86 is an ideal race car, as evident by the series run nationwide in conjunction with Supercars and Dunlop Series.
"This Toyota 86 is a wonderful car which I am getting to know quite well," Ron said.
Ron will next compete at Ringwood (near Raymond Terrace) in September.
He went undefeated in 2018 to pick up the State title.
Based on his results so far, he's at Winx like odds to do the same again.
He's already thinking beyond the championship conclusion, with eyes on the Australian titles later this year.
