GLC is one college, on three campuses offering unlimited opportunities to the 1,800 local students in their care.
At Tuncurry, there are two campuses one for Years 7-10 and the other for Years 11-12. Forster Campus caters for Years 7-10.
Across the three campuses, all staff have University credentials with a continual focus on professional development in line with the Australian Teaching Standards.
"Staff and students have access to a world-class education through extensive technology resources," says College Principal, Graeme Jennings.
"The education programs encompass three GLC core expectations - responsibility, respect and personal best.
"These equip students with the skills needed in the future such as resilience, innovation, problem-solving and collaboration to becoming a responsible citizen."
Since its formation in 2003, the College has been achieving outstanding HSC results across an expansive range of courses.
The College also maintains strong links to parents, the community and tertiary resources which gives students access to work placement, traineeships and early entry into Universities.
The College is also working with Canadian University Professor David Townsend to focus on School Improvement Outcomes.
The diverse staff demographic brings quality teaching where skills are shared across the college through effective communication and collaboration processes.
As one parent Daniel Romer says "Great Lakes College provides a learning environment for both of my daughters to be challenged and encouraged in a supportive and nurturing atmosphere.
"The academic standard coupled with the professionalism of the highly trained and incredibly motivated teachers allow local kids to achieve their best."
The College produces mature, responsible young adults equipped with the skills and knowledge that will hold them in good stead for the rest of their lives
