Joel has authored three books previously, Legends of the 48/215, The Passion for Holden and The Passion for Muscle Cars.
Almost 30,000 of his books have been sold.
Most are now out of print.
This latest book will be released at Harrington Library on August 31, preceded by a display of utes.
Woodslane Media, who are producing the book, are enthusiastic and feel it will fill a real niche in the history of Australian motoring.
The ute has been an integral part of the Australian motoring scene since the 1930s.

The book itself is a comprehensive history of the utility in Australia and has individual stories from some of the featured utes.
The artwork and photos are magnificent.
Joel will be attending the Cundletown Motorshow on September 8 to sign books.
On display at the show will be some of the utes that star in the book.
If you love Aussie utes this book is a must have.
