The member for Myall Lakes has accused the Coalition of big talk, but little action on the issue of bringing down power prices.
Mr Bromhead said he could no longer sit back and listen to the talk.
Like the people I represent, we are done with talk and now expect the government to take action, Mr Bromhead said.
"The electorate of Myall Lakes has one of the oldest age demographics in the State and I am confronted on a daily basis by stories from seniors who are struggling day- to-day because of the cost of electricity," he said.
"State and Federal government policies over the last 10 years have seen millions of tax payer dollars invested into subsidising renewables, while the people I represent are hit with power bills that they simply cannot afford.
"Since we came to government in 2011 we have overseen the closure of two coal fired power stations at Munmorah and Wallerawang removing over 2600 MW from the grid.
"During the same period we have opened 14 solar stations totalling 578 MW capacity and now have 15 wind farms with a combined capacity of 1517MW.
"If renewable energy is so cheap why are our power bills so expensive?"
Mr Bromhead accused the government of 'fiddling while Rome burned'.

"Our State's population has grown by close to a million people since we came to government and we have no plan for new large capacity power stations.
"We are one of the largest coal exporters in the world, we have been given a gift of amazing natural resources that we choose to sell for export.
"However, successive governments and their policies have not encouraged the construction of new generation coal fired power.
"Ask any restaurant, café, butcher or florist and they will tell you that electricity prices are now one of their top expenses and it is eating up the majority of profits.
"I'm calling on the government to take urgent action, to increase the supply of electricity through a new High Energy Low Emissions Power Station and for both State and Federal governments to cease tax payer subsidies to renewables.
"The time for talk is over, the time for action is now."
