Council has committed more than $55,000 towards financial assistance for community development and capacity building projects, through this program.
The first round of projects was endorsed by councillors at last month's council meeting.
This is the first round of funding under the new donations policy, designed to support our large network of volunteers and not-for-profit organisations that are delivering valuable services to our community.
- Lyndie Hepple
There were three program categories available to applicants being annual donations, seed funding and recurrent donations and 28 applications were received across all three categories.
All applications were assessed by a donations assessment panel and as a result, 19 projects were chosen to receive donations of varying amounts, totalling $55,188.
"This is the first round of funding under the new donations policy, designed to support our large network of volunteers and not-for-profit organisations that are delivering valuable services to our community," MidCoast Council community strengthening co-ordinator, Lyndie Hepple said.
