The director is Paul Addison, who has directed numerous shows for Taree Arts Council previously, including South Pacific, The Sound of Music and The Hollow.
Seven females and five males (all adults, no children) are required for the cast (ages are flexible).
The action takes place in the drawing room in an early Victorian house, 'Little Paddock', in the village of Chipping Cleghorn.
An announcement in the local paper states the time and place when a murder is to occur in Miss Blacklock's house.
The victim is not one of the house's several occupants, but an unexpected and unknown visitor.
The roles available are:
Julia Simmons: Letitia Blacklock's niece.
Letitia Blacklock: The long time former personal secretary to the late Randall Goedler, a wealthy businessman.
Dora Bunner: A childhood friend of Letitia Blacklock.
Patrick Simmons: Julia's brother.
Mitzi: Letitia Blacklock's Hungarian cook.
Miss Marple: Staying in Chipping Cleghorn while taking treatment for her rheumatism. She becomes involved in the murder investigation.
Phillipa Haymes: Letitia Blacklock's border.
Clara Swettenham: A neighbour of Letitia Blacklock.

Rehearsal nights will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, with some weekends as rehearsals progress.
The play opens at the Manning Entertainment Centre on October 17 and will run for five performances.
