The 30-year-old woman was doing track work on a Rainbow Flat property when she fell off the thoroughbred.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter critical care medical team and ASNSW paramedics stabilised the woman at the scene before the 30 minute flight to Newcastle.
Precautions have been taken as she has had back injuries from a previous horse riding accident, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said.
